Jasper may only be 5 but he makes an impressive meal. His aunt, uncle and cousins bought him a chefs outfit for his birthday which he received yesterday (first chance for a visit) and it was straight on and into the kitchen for him.
Quiche is an easy recipe for him to handle so with some (but not too much) help he got stuck in.
Cheese grated, ham chopped, mushrooms diced, eggs cracked and milk measured. I melted the butter for him and also helped grate and I did chop the ham but we were running very short on time (I had some ducks and hens looking for their beds but still roaming the garden) but he chopped the mushrooms up, mixed it together, measured the flour out and mixed that in too. Into the ramekins and pie plate and into the oven.
I make this recipe all the time (I will blog about it soon over at Rabid Little Hippy and share the link here) but I’ve never made such a good one before. Light and fluffy with a beautiful rich base, it was easily one of the best Quiches I have eaten!
Thanks Jasper for your help with dinner.
